1. Can you tell us a little what your story, "From Here to the Northern Line," is about?
Commuting - most of us endure it as a necessary evil, but what if it were something more?
2. How did you come up with the idea?
I believe (and hope!) that behind the mundane, even within it, lies wonder, and all manner of strangeness. That's my message in this story.
3. What is your inspiration for writing as a whole?
Telling a story - that and the fact that if I don't write I become unbearably grumpy.
4. Could you tell us a bit about yourself?
I was born in London, but my parents come from Italy (the 'Edoardo') and Sri Lanka. At some point in the past an ancestor changed his name, but we have virtually no family history as my late grandparents - one Sinhala and one Tamil - were disowned by their respective families for marrying.
5. Where can listeners find more of your work?
There are a couple of podcasts on my website, www.edoardoalbert.com, read by Harriet Whitbread.
6. Any new work we should keep an eye out for?
Yes! My first novel, Edwin: High King of Britain, is out at the end of March from Lion Fiction.
7. What are you reading now?
A biography of Alfred the Great by Justin Pollard and The Second Coming by Walker Percy.
